Ranking of schools is always a touchy issue. While it is helpful to students when evaluating their choices, it may also breed inequality and elitism among the young. If ranking is to be published, it should also be done in terms of value-add i.e. how much a school has improved compared to past years. Ranking of such a nature can help students and teachers to set more appropriate individual goals.
